The Fiji Under-23 football team could play either Solomon Islands or Vanuatu in the semifinal of the OFC U23 Championship next Wednesday.
The Rob Sherman-coached Fijians qualified for the semifinal after beating Papua New Guinea 2-0 at the My Smart Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand, this afternoon.
“We’ll anyone of them Solomons or Vanuatu,” Sherman said.
He highlighted that the plan was pressure PNG into mistakes and at the same time put on a disciplined performance.
Fiji drew first blood in the 5th minute from a Nabil Begg cross that was headed in by captain, Etonia Dogalau.
Fiji maintained the lead right to the 66th minute when Begg sent in a cross and found Aporosa Yada who scored from a brilliant header.
