Ravu: I’m Only An Adviser, Civil Servants Can Apply For Government Scheme
Minister for Fisheries Kalaveti Vodo Ravu has clarified that he only advises the Taukei Agriculture Aquaculture and Development Co-operative, which was recently announced as one of the approved buyers and exporters of sea cucumber (bech-de-mer).

Minister for Fisheries Kalaveti Vodo Ravu has clarified that he only advises the Taukei Agriculture Aquaculture and Development Co-operative, which was recently announced as one of the approved buyers and exporters of sea cucumber (bech-de-mer).
The Co-operative is one of 21 companies approved by the Permanent Secretary of Fisheries in consultation with a special Committee set up to assess applications.
The buying and exporting of sea cucumbers are strictly restricted to the 21 entities.

All exports will cease on December 31, 2023.
“I am a consultant for this company and operate VORO Retailers International, which specialises in organic manure,” Mr Ravu said.
“I provided advice to the Taukei Agriculture Aquaculture and Development Co-operative’s organic farmers, mainly iTaukei, because we wanted farmers to switch from using chemical fertilisers to organic fertilisers.”
