Boxer and fitness instructor Jonathan Hill will stand trial in November on an alleged drug possession charge.

Hill appeared before Senior Magistrate Sufia Hamza in the Suva Magistrate Court this morning, where the trial was scheduled for November 2 and 3.

The prosecution told the court it intends to call 13 witnesses, while Hill is expected to call one witness in his defence.

Meanwhile, the court issued a bench warrant for Hill's co-accused, Pauliasi Tagicakiviti, after he failed to appear in court.

Tagicakiviti faces a separate charge of allegedly possessing property suspected to be the proceeds of crime.

The matter has been adjourned to September 2 for mention.
