Every love story has a different beginning.
Shereen Nisha and Benjamin Mohammed have been married for 23 years and will be celebrating the valentine’s day with their family at home.
40-year-old Mrs Nisha believes in celebrating the occasion of Valentine’s Day every day in their marriage.

“Love should not be celebrated on one day only,” Mrs Nisha said graciously.
“My husband and I believe that Valentine’s day should be celebrated everyday with the person we love the most and of course our family.”
“I believe that Love and Respect are the two main components of an everlasting marriage. When there is love and respect in a marriage, then everyday feels special just like Valentine’s.”
Their relationship had an unusual start as their wedding was fixed by family friends.
The couple got legally married in May 2001 and on 17th June, they took the oath in a ‘Nikah’ ceremony saying ‘yes’ to live a life together.

“I used to live at my uncle’s house when one of his relatives saw me. She used to work at Ben’s Philip in Suva with my husband so she took the initiative and spoke about my marriage.”
“I was nervous because I was getting married to someone I didn’t know.”
“But later, we got introduced by our families and soon that arrange marriage turned into love.”
“Both, the legal and religious wedding ceremony in our Muslim custom took place at my home and since then we have maintained a strong, loving and understanding bond.”
The couple have two children, a daughter and a son.

“Don’t just go by showering your lover with gifts on Valentine’s maybe do it in other days of the year as well. Gifts doesn’t mean an object wrapped in a box but a hug or just a smile could be a gift for your someone special.”
