FRA Clarifies Payment To Civil Contractor

The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) chief exec­utive officer, Kamal Prasad, has clarified that payment to civil contractors is nor­mal and it is following procedure.

Mr Prasad said this certification of claims process took a while, at least a month because there were certain conditions to be met.

These involve verifications of documents, com­pletion assessment on site, quality assurance, meeting required project specification and qual­ity.

A civil contractor director, who wished to re­main anonymous, said he had to lay off some permanent works on temporary basis.
