The People’s Alliance political party aims to have 30 per cent of women in their provisional candidates’ line-up for the 2022 general election.

This was revealed by deputy party leader Manoa Kamikamica during the talanoa session at Laselase

Village in Sigatoka.

Mr Kamikamica assured party members that there were a lot of strategies put in place by the party and one includes women empowerment.

“We will make sure that 30 per cent of women are represented, no other party is doing that right now,” he said.

He added the party manifesto was ready, but it would be released once the National Budget was

announced next month.

Party Leader Sitiveni Rabuka said his visit to Lakeba, Lau was successful.

But he was surprised that no one asked him questions

regarding the 1987 coup events.
