Police confirm death certificate in circulation, investigation continues

The Fiji Police Force has confirmed that the death certificate of Jone Vakarisi circulating publicly is an official police document issued following a post-mortem examination.

In a statement dated April 19, Police said the document is part of standard procedure after an autopsy is conducted.

Copies of the certificate are issued to the next of kin and the investigating officer.

Police said investigations into Mr Vakarisi’s death are ongoing, with statements continuing to be gathered.
