The people of Tamavua Village outside Suva City are threatening to close portion of Princess Road if no immediate solution is found to control speeding motorists.

The people of Tamavua Village outside Suva City are threatening to close portion of Princess Road if no immediate solution is found to control speeding motorists.
This is after five road deaths were recorded within the portion of the road along the village since last year.
Village headman Sunia Malewa said villagers had been asking stakeholders including Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) to rebuild road humps in

The road humps were replaced recently.
The latest villager who died on the road was last month.
He claimed that the speed camera was not functional.
With the newly-constructed road hump, it was not visible and there was a danger of motorists overlooking it.
Tamavua Village is situated near Wailoku and Namadi Heights and is home to more than 300 people.
