Heavy rain warning stays in force nationwide
Forecasters expect occasional to periods of rain, heavy at times with a few thunderstorms over most places. However, conditions are forecast to improve from tomorrow.

Heavy rain affecting the Fiji group is expected to gradually ease later tomorrow, although a Heavy Rain Warning remains in force nationwide for now.
The National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi said an active trough of low pressure, with associated rain bands and strong northwesterly winds, continues to affect the country.

Localised heavy falls may still lead to flash flooding in low-lying and flood-prone areas.
Significant rainfall recorded in the 24 hours to 9am today included 223.5mm at Navala, 197.5mm at Nanoko, 163.0mm at Waikubukubu, 158.5mm at Bukuya, 135.0mm at Vunisea, 134.0mm at Monasavu, 128.0mm at Tubeinasolo and 116.0mm at Levuka.
Authorities warn that flash flooding may affect low-lying informal settlements, businesses and Irish crossings, leading to traffic disruptions. Surface flooding is also likely in urban areas with poor drainage, while wet roads and reduced visibility during heavy downpours could increase the risk of road accidents.
The next Special Weather Bulletin for Heavy Rain will be issued at around 4.30pm today or earlier if necessary.
