19 Year Old McGoon Wins Farmers Carnival Crown

Ulamila Masilina McGoon was crowned Miss Farmers Carnival 2023 at Churchill Park in Lautoka on Saturday night.
The 19-year-old was represented by Saru Sector.
Seven contestants from different farming sectors in Lautoka competed in the week-long carnival, which had the theme ‘Healthy and Safe Living Environment.’

The guest speaker, Fiji Labour Party leader Mahendra Chaudhry, said the carnival was to assist poor children.
“This carnival was set up for that, and we will continue to do that.”
Mr Chaudhry said that despite the carnival being postponed for the past four years due to the COVID pandemic, this year’s carnival was a successful one.
“We are back here again, and we will continue to support the needy children. I call on the Lautoka business houses; let us support a worthy cause. Let us give more to a carnival for an effort that works for ordinary people,” he added.
