Drone, community tip-off lead to 8,000-marijuana plant bust
Community tip-offs and drone surveillance led Police to one of the latest major marijuana seizures in the Northern Division.

Close to 8,000 plants believed to be marijuana were seized during a Police operation at the Bilobiloca farming area in the Northern Division.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations Kasiano Vusonilawe said the raid was made possible through information sharing. A drone was later deployed and confirmed the cultivation site.
ACP Vusonilawe said community support had been instrumental in the success of such raids, leading to seizures and arrests.

ACP Vusonilawe said drug operations were multifaceted, with officers focusing not only on illicit drugs but also on other offences to ensure a holistic approach to tackling crime.
Police are urging members of the public to call 1681 to report crime, share information or raise concerns about service delivery.
