More Than 82K In Marijuana Plants Uprooted
“Today I have come here to request you all personally to help the Fiji Police Force with these drug-related issues that we have always faced here,” he said.

The Fiji Police Force has uprooted 82,700 marijuana plants from the province of Kadavu from January last year to March this year.
This is according to Acting Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu who said this would cost close to $100 million.
Acting Commissioner Tudravu made the revelation while opening the Kadavu Provincial Council meeting in the past week.

Mr Tudravu said they sent across 12 teams within this period because of the spike in the number of marijuana farms that continued to be identified in the province.

“I know you have always helped us, but I want all of you to take it up a notch and continue to help us fight this battle. Let’s move forward together.”
He said the Fiji Police Force would not spare any citizen who was found in possession of the drugs or found to be planting it.
He called on the chiefs, district representatives and members of the provincial council to help in eliminating the illegal drug on the island.
