Volunteers Ensure Society Office Ready For Anniversary

About 15 volunteers from Selfless Fiji are working extra hours to ensure the Fiji Cancer Society’s main office is refurbished on time for its 30th anniversary.

Selfless Fiji founder, Solomone Rabuli, said volunteers took part in cleaning, gardening, painting and creative art designing to interior designing.

“They started with the changing of the signboard on the roadside and progress has now moved to the interior and exterior building of the Fiji Cancer Society’s main office,” Mr Rabuli said.

The project started four weeks ago and will be completed before August 27.

Fiji Cancer Society communication officer, Lemeki Waqavuki said the Fiji Cancer Society was grateful for the help done by the volunteers.

“The revamping of the outside premises and the interior designing within the office that is done by the volunteers straight from the heart. The society appreciates any form of assistance given to us,” he said.

“We appreciate the spirit of volunteerism in revamping our humble abode,” Mr Waqavuki said.

Volunteers from Selfless Fiji only work on Saturdays at the Fiji Cancer Society’s office as society operations are closed on weekends, so volunteers have the freedom to operate in and out of the premises.
