Votualevu College Prefects Vow to Lead With Diligence

Riyah Rinshita Prasad and Ayush Adarsh Kumar plan to implement measures to maintain discipline at Votualevu College, Nadi.
The school head prefects, among 100 newly inducted on Wednesday, are responsible for overseeing the school’s 780 students.
Head boy Ayush said he knew the challenging task ahead of them.

“I am honoured and privileged,” he said.
“It is a big task, but we will make a plan and work according to that to help maintain discipline within the school,” he said.
“As the head boy, I hope to address issues such as bullying and cybercrime in school, and I intend to do this with the help of my co-head and the student council.

“The history of education in this country began with our churches, our religious organisations, our communities, and our parents.
“Almost 99 percent of the schools in the country were built by communities, by religious organisations, and by our forefathers, and we honour them today as we see the growth,” he said.
“We are delighted as a government to ensure that we not only provide the enabling environment for quality education but also make sure that Government government does its part in supporting education extensively because we believe that the future of our country depends on the partnership between Government, parents, teachers, communities and students.”
