TISA Insurance Covenant Brothers will play in the Suva Rugby Union’s prestigious Escott Shield grand-final for the first time.

This is the 113th year of the Escott Shield competition, making it one of the oldest sporting titles in the Southern Hemisphere.

Covenant Brothers beat Lomaiviti Black 18-14 in a gripping semi-final at Suva’s National Stadium last Saturday.

Team captain Tui Cakacaka, the side produced a determined performance to overcome a resilient Lomaiviti Black outfit and continue their dream run.

Awaiting Covenant Brothers in the grand-final is defending champion Police Blue side, who secured their spot with an emphatic 48-20 win over Fresh’et Navy in the second semi-final.

The Nasova-based outfit dominated the encounter to complete the grand final lineup and will head into the title clash full of confidence.
