Vatukoula Gold Mines Under Threat

The country’s only gold producer is under threat yet again, weeks after workers staged an impromptu sit down.

Vatukoula Gold Mines Limited could avert the imminent industrial action if the Labour Ministry allows arbitration.

The National Union of Workers, led by general secretary, Felix Anthony, confirmed it had lodged a request with the ministry for a secret ballot to allow for industrial action.
