7 Contest Sugar Festival Crown

Let us pledge to stand be­side those in need to ensure peaceful and progressive communities.

That’s the plea from sponsor’s rep­resentative Nilesh Singh when he launched the 2023 Vodafone Sugar Festival at the Lautoka Club on Wednesday night.

This year, the festival returns af­ter a three-year hiatus.

It carries a theme close to the heart that resonates with the spon­sor’s core values, lend a hand to the needy.

“This theme serves as a powerful reminder of the responsibility to make a positive impact on the lives of those less fortunate, in the spirit of compassion, kindness and uni­ty,” Mr Singh said.

“Together we can truly make a dif­ference. Each of us has the power to extend a helping hand and impact lives positively.

“The success of our organisation is not solely measured on finan­cial growth, but on the commit­ment of support, empowerment, and growth to the communities it serves.”

Mr Singh said Vodafone was com­mitted to fostering a culture of so­cial responsibility.

“We see our sponsored festivals across the country as platforms to boost social aspects, to nurture the development of our young as well as being a means to earn a living for our micro small medium enter­prise (MSMEs),” he said.

Sugar Festival Foundation presi­dent Pushp Raj said the festival had been in existence for more than six decades and was not just about lights, music, and laughter.

“It is about our community’s col­lective strength, coming together to create a brighter future,” he said.

“It is heart-warming to see our communities come together to cel­ebrate and support our local talents and businesses.”

He thanked all the sponsors as well for coming on board.

The categoriers this year will in­clude: Princess, Kings, and Queens with the event held at the Lautoka Club from September 30 – October 7.
