The Fiji National University’s (FNU), Acting Vice- Chancellor, Professor Unaisi Nabobo-Baba highlighted that education was about partnerships.
Professor Nabobo-Baba made the comment while attending the Fiji National Education Summit 2023 at the Sheraton Fiji Golf and Beach Resort in Nadi.
She highlighted that no individual could work alone.

“The issues of our time are multisectoral and multifaceted and it will demand of us a multipronged approach to transform the education system,” said Professor Nabobo-Baba.
“The Ministry and those of us in the sector are working together with teachers, children, IT and the community in transforming the education system.”
FNU Pro-Vice-Chancellor Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Dr Isimeli Tagicakiverata added that TVET was a pathway of opportunities for everyone.
“I am glad to say that this pathway is for everybody,” said Dr Tagicakiverata.
Minister for Education, Honorable Aseri Radrodro who officially opened the summit, shared that the summit was a great platform for education experts to find solutions to address the teacher shortage issue.
“Fiji continues to experience a shortage in teachers as our people move offshore in search for better opportunities,” said Honorable Radrodro
“Our primary school sector is experiencing massive shortages, which has seen secondary school graduates assume their roles.”
