The deteriorating condition of the roads at the Suva Bus Stand has become a concern for both pedestrians and bus operators.

Bus operators have expressed concerns about the increasing number of potholes, making the area difficult to navigate, especially during busy peak hours.

In response, the Suva City Council (SCC) has assured the public that repairing the roads was a top priority.

Acting chief executive officer Tevita Boseiwaqa said the council had been in constant communication with the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) to address the issue.

“We are treating this as a priority,” said Mr Boseiwaqa.

“We’ve engaged the FRA and I can assure the public that this will be fixed as soon as possible. The wet weather conditions have contributed significantly to the deterioration of the roads. Once the weather improves, we will begin the repair work,” he said.
