12 quad bikes boost Namosi adventure tourism

A new fleet of 12 quad bikes is set to boost adventure tourism in the interior of Namosi as local operators expand tourism experiences beyond the province's traditional attractions.

Echo Highland Backpackers Pte Ltd owner Vilise Naboro said the company had partnered with Namosi Eco Retreat to position the interior of Namosi as a recognised adventure tourism destination.

Mr Naboro said the business, based near Naruwai Village, was focused on creating new experiences that would attract more local and international visitors.

"We are building a partnership with Namosi Eco Retreat. We are trying to improve to a standard where Namosi can become a tourist destination in the interior," he said.

The company recently expanded its operations with the arrival of 12 quad bikes, which will be used for guided off-road tours.

"We now have 12 quad bikes. These will be used for off-road tours, including rides to the waterfalls and trips through to the last village in Namosi," Mr Naboro said.

He said the new attraction would diversify tourism activities while showcasing the province's mountains, waterfalls and remote villages.

Mr Naboro acknowledged the support provided through the Government's Micro and Small Business Grant Programme (MCPP) and the assistance of Vanua Finance in helping expand the business.

"We are so happy for what they have done, especially bringing these machines into the interior. It is another standard of tourism and will help bring more visitors into the interior," he said.

The investment is expected to strengthen Namosi's reputation as an eco-adventure destination while creating new economic opportunities for communities in the province.
