Hollywood star Halle Berry says Fiji has the 'happiest people on Earth'

Hollywood star Halle Berry has declared Fiji has the "happiest people on Earth" after a family holiday at Kokomo Private Island Resort, praising the warmth and hospitality she experienced during her stay.

Ms Berry shared highlights of the holiday on social media after returning home, thanking the resort's staff for caring for her family and describing the experience as one "for the ages".

"It's true, Fiji does have the happiest people on Earth. We can't wait to return to paradise!" she said in her Facebook post.

Ms Berry also praised the resort staff for their hospitality, saying they helped her son get dive certified, cared for her daughter when she became seasick, encouraged her son to jump into a waterfall and looked after her after she broke her toe while playing pickleball.

"Everything was sheer perfection! So thoughtful and all done with so much joy and love," she said.

The movie star celebrated her 60th birthday at the island resort.

She also thanked staff for a pre-birthday lovo celebration, describing the night as "epic".

Ms Berry thoroughly enjoyed her stay and said, "The only bad thing about this trip is that each day must come to an end."

Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Viliame Gavoka welcomed Ms Berry's praise, saying it reinforced Fiji's reputation as a leading tourism destination.
