Growing up in England, prop Penina Turova has always dreamt representing Fiji in rugby.
The Nakobo, Cakaudrove native who shares maternal links to Rewa had moved to England with her family when she was only two-years-old.

Turova joined the Vodafone Fijiana XVs training squad early this month.
“It’s a plan of mine to come and play for Fijiana, and now I’m here,” Turova said.
“The bonding has been really good, the girls are so welcoming, it’s like we’re all family.
“It means a lot to represent my country, because playing back in England it was only club rugby that I played. I always want to play for Fiji – so this means a lot.”
The Fijiana XVs have been in camp for the past month preparing for their two Test matches against Japan.
Turova indicated there was tight competition for her position in the squad including Brumbies prop Ana Korovata and Fijiana Drua’s Siteri Rasolea.
“Competition is high; all the props are very good. I have nothing to say for other props, everyone is good at their position and have their own techniques.
“For me, I need to improve on my line speed, tackle and just being up with my speed.”
