Alleged grandpa killer denies murder charge
Psychiatric assessment finds accused fit to stand trial.

A man accused of murdering and dismembering his 86-year-old grandfather in Wainibuka, Tailevu has pleaded not guilty in the High Court in Suva.
Charles Laxton Sundar appeared before Justice Usaia Ratuvili today and entered a not guilty plea to one count of murder.
Sundar is accused of slitting the throat of his grandfather, Emori Rokovuki, and dismembering his body with knives at Lutu Village on July 12 last year.

The plea was entered after a psychiatric evaluation by St Giles Psychiatric Hospital found him fit to stand trial.
His lawyer, Andala Dean of the Legal Aid Commission, confirmed the record of interview would not be challenged.
The matter was adjourned to June 22 for a pre-trial conference.
Sundar remains in custody.
