The Fiji Police Force's Internal Affairs Department is conducting a preliminary investigation into the alleged conduct of a Sigatoka-based police officer and reported threats made against a female student.

Police are appealing to members of the public to assist with the investigation, urging anyone who may know the alleged victim or have information that could assist enquiries to contact the toll-free line 1681, Crimestoppers on 919, or their nearest police station.

The Force said the outcome of the preliminary investigation would determine the next course of action.

Meanwhile, members of the public are being encouraged to use the 1681 toll-free number to report crimes, suspicious activities, concerns about service delivery, or complaints regarding the conduct of police officers.
