Vuya District: 'When will Electricity be Restored?

When will the district of Vuya in Bua receive normal electricity supply?
This question was raised by Tevita Robanakadavu, the district representative at the Bua Provincial Council meeting yesterday.
Mr Robanakadavu, said more than four villages and two settlements in the area had been without electricity for more than seven months.

Apart from farming, fishing is the main source of income and food source for families of more than 400 people who live in this area.
He said they often looked for places around Bua to store fish because there were no coolers or freezers.

Mr Rabuka then requested if any representative from Energy Fiji Limited (EFL) could address the issue.
Mr Robanakadavu and attendees were informed that a replacement transformer had been shipped earlier this week and installation were scheduled to start next week.
