Earlier this year, there was a news report on the distribution of free needles under the “Clean Needle Programme” to address the rise of HIV in Fiji.
Respectfully, when will this programme be fully implemented, and when can the public expect to see its impact?

Recent reports indicate an increase in babies born with HIV in 2025 compared with 2024. This is alarming and suggests that more needs to be done to address the situation.
I hope initiatives such as the Clean Needle Programme will be implemented effectively and without delay.
Public education remains one of the most effective ways to tackle this issue, as drug use not only affects individuals but also has consequences for future generations.
