Unity Fiji appoints Lenaitasi Duru as new general secretary

The Executive Board of Unity Fiji has appointed Lenaitasi Duru as its new general secretary.

Mr Duru holds a Master of Business Administration degree, a postgraduate diploma in business administration, and a Bachelor of Commerce in international business, agriculture and economics.

He has worked as a high school teacher, an officer at the Fiji Sugar Corporation, a commercial bank officer, a private consultant and a farmer.

Unity Fiji said it was satisfied with its own research and Mr Duru’s explanation regarding the circumstances surrounding his departure from SODELPA.

In signing the contract with Mr Duru today, Unity Fiji leader Savenaca Narube thanked him for his interest in joining the party.

“I am confident that Mr Duru’s addition to the Unity Team will further boost the growing popularity of the Party. I look forward to working closely with him to mount a strong campaign for the general elections,” Mr Narube said.
