Sportsworld Fiji Under-20 centre William Tawakedina is determined to help his side achieve a successful campaign during the international series in South Africa later this month.
Fiji will face Georgia, South Africa and Chile.
The 19-year-old is from Somosomo Village in Taveuni and represented Queen Victoria School in the Fiji Secondary Schools Deans rugby competition last year.
“I’m grateful to God for the talent and I am giving my best at training in this last phase of preparations,” Tawakedina said.
He currently plays for the University of the South Pacific rugby team in the domestic competition and is part of the High-Performance Unit academy.
“Although I wasn’t selected for the three test matches in Australia last month, I had continued training,” he said.
“I then got a call to play in the Hong Kong 10s tournament for an overseas club.”
Tawakedina said he gained valuable lessons and experience during his 10s rugby outing last month.
“I’m grateful to my family back in the village for their massive support,” he said.
Tawakedina also played for Tisa Warriors in the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s tournament in March.
