The Ratu Sukuna Memorial School Under-18 team started strong in their Southern Zone Deans competition.

They defeated neighbors Nabua Secondary School 20 – 6 in their opener at Suva Grammar School Grounds on Saturday.

RSMS head coach Josaia Rokomarawa said there’s a lot to be done to their systems of play and they need to improve on their performance.

“Firstly, we acknowledge the Lord Almighty for the strength and also for His provision. We wish to dedicate the win to our stakeholders, the parents, guardians and also the alumni and also our supporters,” he said.

“We need to improve on the attack, defense, set pieces and our line outs. we need to work on that before we move on to our second game next week.

Rokomarawa said they are aiming to reach play offs of the Vodafone Super Deans this year.

“We’ll take one game at a time. The main goal is to try and improve from our last performance from last year. Last year we finished off in the southern zone in the semis. So hopefully this year we will go a step further, try and reach the final and hopefully get into the national quarters,” he said.

He has encouraged their fans and supporters to come in numbers and support their team.

“I would like to invite all our families, friends and the school to come in numbers to support the boys next week,” he said.
