Event founder Cynthia Cebujano said fashion could be a powerful way to reach hearts and inspire change.
“Through Pink Escape, we’re bringing awareness, beauty and purpose together. Encouraging women to feel beautiful, confident and proactive about their health,” she said.
Fiji Cancer Society western branch representative Vokili Ali praised the good collaboration with Ms Cebujano, especially in the West.
“We’re able to spread the awareness, the importance of cancer. This is a good platform to be able to relate to women the symptoms and the pathway into treatment,” she said.
“This is a great start and it’s good for us as well. It was a good evening. Hopefully, we’re looking for more to come in the future and more partnerships to spread that awareness, not just in the West, but maybe the whole of Fiji.”
New Zealand-based fashion stylist Nora Swann, who is the visionary founder of Pacific Fashion Show, was present at the event as a professional mentor for Ms Cebujano.
“It was great for me to come and reconnect with her as she brought her first successful event to life. My input here is to run Stylex segment and give them their ideas to put together their own outfits,” said Ms Swann.
