Duiyasana Taxis and Tours president, Rupeni Tabutabu was grateful to Government and other stakeholders for heeding the call from the tourism sector.

This by allowing vessels such as the P&O Australia’s Pacific Explorer Cruise ship to come to Fiji after more than two years.

The Pacific Explorer cruise ship arrived in Lautoka on August 15 with a total of 1147 passengers.

“We are happy and grateful because after two years the cruise liner has returned to our shores. This is like an early Christmas gift to us,” he said.

“Whenever these cruise liners come to Fiji, we all understand that our economy grows so we are thankful to the Government for allowing this to happen especially during these hard times.”

Duiyasana Taxis and Tours is based at Kermode Road, Lautoka serving the greater Lautoka area on a 24 hours basis.

The association started two years ago and now it has secured a port user license through the Fiji Ports Corporation Limited.

“We are looking forward to more cruise liners coming to our shores.”
