A $25 million undertaking of new projects will be unveiled by a family-owned company that retails apparel, jewellery and handicraft.

Jack’s Group of Companies is working on four new projects to add to its 50 retail stores.

Chief executive officer Bhavin Khatri said a new distribution centre and a new head office would be completed in the next 24 months.

The new distribution centre is located next to its current facility in Nadi, which will expand by 4000 square metres.

The new head office will be built in Nadi Town.

“We have two new stores to open in the next three months, one in Nausori Plaza, the other at Damodar Labasa,” Mr Khatri said.

Outside Fiji

Jack’s expanded to Timor Leste where it opened its first store last December.

“This is a developing market, and we are finding our grounding with the first store opening,” said Mr Khatri.

Business improved for the group despite the January 10 violent riots and looting that shook Port Moresby, in Papua New Guinea.

“PNG operation has been doing well,” Mr Khatri said.

“Unfortunately, we were impacted in one of our stores during the riot.

“PNG is recovering.”

Jack’s ventured into the Papua New Guinea market in 2015 with its first store outside of Fiji. A second store opened at Vision City Mega Mall, Papua New Guinea, on December 7, 2015.
