A court clerk charged with one count of burglary from the High Court in Lautoka was further remanded by the Magistrates Court.
Ritnesh Kumar, 31, appeared before Magistrate Semi Babitu yesterday.
Defence lawyer Mohammed Yunus filed an application for bail. He argued that the offence against his client was a mere allegation and requested that bail be granted.

Prosecutor Sergeant Mereisi Seavula strongly opposed the bail application, citing Sections 18 and 19 of the Bail Act, which focus on public interest. She said that granting bail could send the wrong message to would-be offenders attempting to undermine the judicial system.
Ms Seavula added that the alleged incident took place at the High Court, a place highly regarded by the public as second only to the Supreme Court.
Magistrate Babitu adjourned the case to December 10.
