State seeks more time over return of seized property
Three convicted men seek return of vehicles, phones and other items following Fiji’s record 4.15-tonne methamphetamine seizure.

The State proseuction has sought more time to consider an amended list of property that three convicted men want returned following Fiji’s largest-ever drug seizure.
Louie Logaivau, Viliame Colawailiku and Sakiusa Tuva appeared before Justice Aruna Aluthge today seeking the return of personal property, including two vehicles, mobile phones and other items seized by Police.
Appearing for the State, prosecutor Mikaele Waqavana told the court that additional time was required to consider the amended list submitted by the three men.

The matter will return to court on August 25, when the items will be brought before the court if they are ready.
The three men were among nine people charged in connection with the seizure of 4.15 tonnes of methamphetamine at Legalega and Maqalevu in January 2024.
The other accused were Justin Ho, David Heritage, Ratu Aporosa Davelevu, Jale Aukerea, Ratu Osea Levula and Cathy Tuirabe.
The case involved the alleged importation of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of about $2 billion. It has been described as the largest drug seizure in Fiji’s history and one of the largest in the Pacific region.
The list of property includes vehicles believed to have been used to transport the drugs from Motorex at Nadi Back Road to Legalega.
The State is considering the alleged connection between the vehicles and the transportation of the drugs as it assesses the request for their return.
