Australia commits $35m to Fiji rugby
Funding announced after Fiji and Australia signed the Vuvale Union and Ocean of Peace Alliance.

Fiji Rugby Union will receive a $35 million funding boost from Australia to support sports development in Fiji.
The commitment was announced following the signing of the Vuvale Union and Ocean of Peace Alliance treaties by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka and his Australian counterpart, Anthony Albanese, in Suva yesterday.
Mr Albanese said the agreements would strengthen cooperation between the two countries for years to come.

"These treaties will set us up in the coming decades to tackle the major challenges that we face together, that will connect our region and bring our people and cultures closer together as well."
Both prime ministers reaffirmed that the strengthened bilateral relationship would contribute to the prosperity, security and resilience of both countries.
