Council to extend Subrail Park's seating capacity

Plans are now in place to increase the seating capacity at Subrail Park in Labasa from 8000 to 10,000.
Labasa Town Council (LTC) special administrator chairman Paul Jaduram confirmed that he had discussion with Fiji Football Association chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf about this last Sunday during the Extra sponsored Battle of the Giants grand-final.
"Mr Yusuf has assured that Fiji FA will bring another major tournament to Subrail Park next year," Jaduram said.

"He wants to make sure more seats were available so that people get the right service, which they pay for to watch the games.
"At the moment the council doesn't have the budget to build a pavilion at the embarkment area."
However, in the meantime, he said the LTC's town planner would take time to design and work with a selected team to find out the costs.
"We may not be able to get this project done this year however, we will be in a better position next year and well before the major football tournament," he said.

Jaduram added that when these two things are done, he will send a request to Government to fund Jaduram thanked Yusuf for the opportunity and Fiji FA for choosing Labasa as one of their tournament hosts.
