The Fijian workforce at an aircraft maintenance company in Dubai, has exceeded the company’s expectations in both skills and attitude.

This was revealed by the UUDS Aero DWC-LLC, chief executive officer and chief strategic officer, Manoj Bogoda, when President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, and the First Lady, Emily Lalabalavu, visited the Fijian workers in Dubai.

“They bring not only technical proficiency but also a strong sense of teamwork and integrity, which have become part of our company’s culture,” Mr Bogoda said.

“We are proud to have them as an integral part of our operations, and we look forward to expanding our partnership with Fiji through employment and scholarship initiatives.

“Our goal is to continue investing in people — empowering them with world-class training and education opportunities that will benefit both UUDS and the communities these talented individuals come from,” he added.

UUDS currently employs over 30 Fijian staff, a testament to Fiji’s skilled workforce and the potential for technical upskilling through UAE industry partnerships.

Ratu Naiqama praised all Fijians working at UUDS for being true ambassadors of Fiji, not only through sports but also through their skills, work ethic, and craftsmanship.

“We are proud of our Fijian workers who have shown resilience, discipline, and a spirit of teamwork — values that define us as a people,” Ratu Naiqama said.

“Many of them may not have formal technical qualifications, but through determination and on the job learning, they have mastered complex tasks and are now excelling in advanced manufacturing and aeronautical work.”

Ratu Naiqama also expressed his appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi for his continued support for the contributions of Fijian workers in the UAE.

He also extended his gratitude to Fiji’s Ambassador to UAE HE Siddiq Koya for his cooperation with Fijians working in the UAE and strengthening Fiji-UAE bilateral relations.
