A Nasinu man was told in the Suva Magistrates Court that unlawful wounding is not a reconcilable offence.

On January 12, 2018 the accused Alipate Varia allegedly damaged the complainant’s Samsung J1 mobile phone worth $129.

On the second count he allegedly wounded the same complainant with a piece of wood.

Varia chose to represent himself.

He told Magistrate Waleen George that he had reconciled with the complainant who was present in court to confirm this.

However, he was told that the second count was not a reconcilable offence.

Police Prosecutor Constable Setareki Mocevakaca served the accused with full phase disclosures.

He also informed Magistrate George that the accused was a first offender.

The accused stated that he was not related to the complainant and that he lived in Yanuca Village, Serua.

He was advised to file a formal bail application in the Nasinu Magistrates Court on February 14 and was remanded in custody until then.
