The Land Transport Authority (LTA) will also accommodate women interested in applying for Public Service Vehicles (PSV) or heavy vehicles driver’s licence.

Acting general manager technical and operation Makitalena Drova highlighted this during the LTA public consultation in Labasa on Monday.

Questions were raised on what LTA was doing to encourage more women to join the PSV industry.

Ms Drova said interest was entirely upon interested women.

Women can do just about anything and females are encouraged to take up fields that are normally male-dominated.

During the public consultation, LTA seeks to create awareness about women’s empowerment, more particularly, a safe space in the PSVs industry for them.
