Rivalries aside, the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua are sad for their brothers from the Melbourne Rebels after Rugby Australia announced their expulsion from next year's Super Rugby

Pacific competition.

This puts the future of Rebels players, staff and their families in jeopardy.

Speaking to SUNsports yesterday Fijian Drua chief executive officer Mark Evans said it's always difficult when things like this happen.

"We feel for the Melbourne Rebels players, staff and fans at this time- it must be heartbreaking for them," he said.

"We will acknowledge them (Rebels) in Lautoka tomorrow (today) as they play their final Super Rugby Pacific regular season match."

Evans said after today's crucial game to determine the Drua's quarterfinal fate, the 'Isa Lei' song will be sung to farewell and honour the Rebels team after 14 seasons in the competition.

"The lyrics will be displayed on the big screen, and we will get the crowd to sing (with the Drua players and staff)," he added.
