Todd proud despite Amram’s loss to former youth champ

Todd said he was proud of Amram given the experience of his opponent who was last year’s European youth champion.

Fiji amateur boxing national coach Cameron Todd was happy with Norman Amram’s performance despite going down to Slovakia’s Kristian Harasnik.

Amram lost on points.

They fought in the men’s Under-19 60kg division at the World Boxing Futures Cup in Bangkok on Sunday night.

Todd said he was proud of Amram given the experience of his opponent who was last year’s European youth champion.

“Norman boxed very well, he showed some improvement,” Todd said.

“His first major international tournament and did himself and his country proud and showing the potential he has.

“Always learning and moving forward,” he added.

The week-long competition sees more than 500 boxers from 85 countries.

Meanwhile, Apisai Radravu fought last night while Merewalesi Kolkitapa will fight today.
