Jack’s of Fiji has pledged $10,000 to support the Drua Foundation.
The announcement was made during a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signing between Jack’s of Fiji group marketing manager Akash Narsey and Drua Foundation director Melissa Natawake at the Drua headquarters in Nadi yesterday.
Narsey said the company believed the success was measured by its impact on communities.
“We are proud to support the Fijian Drua Foundation through our $10,000 donation initiative,” he said.
He said the foundation’s work extended beyond rugby into health, education and social outreach.
“They are deeply invested in rugby development, but also in health, education and social outreach. It is about inclusivity, opportunity and making a real difference for Fijian schoolchildren, families and future rugby players.”
Narsey said initiatives such as the Drua Academy provided young players with access to high-performance pathways, including elite coaching and structured support.
He said the foundation’s health and education programmes also helped build discipline, well-being and life skills beyond the field.
“It is about creating pathways, keeping our talent in Fiji and giving young people access to opportunities that did not exist before,” he said.
“At its heart, the Drua Foundation is helping shape the future of Fiji, and we are honoured to play a part in that journey.”
Natawake said Round 6 had been designated as Drua Foundation Round to highlight the foundation’s work.
She said Jack’s of Fiji’s support was significant.
“It speaks volumes because they were the first to come on board as partners for Foundation Week,” she said.
“This week is about raising awareness among the public that we exist and that people can get involved or support us.”
Natawake said businesses interested in supporting high-performance pathways, grassroots rugby, health, education, or social impact programmes could find more information on the Drua website.
“Donations like this goes a long way, especially as a new charity. It allows us to do more and reflects the belief Jack’s of Fiji has in our work,” she said.
Meanwhile, the Drua and Reds match will be at Churchill Park, Lautoka at 3:35pm tomorrow
