The Police team won the women’s division in the British Army volleyball tournament which ended yesterday at the Vodafone Arena, Suva.
They defeated the Fiji Navy women’s team, 25-18, after three sets.
Captain and acting coach Ulamila Karisitiana said she was grateful to the players who turned up represent Fiji Police Force women’s team for the past three days of competition.

“We are grateful that we managed to come out victors and we thank the British Army volleyball team for this opportunity,” Karisitiana said.
She said their team was a mixture senior players with a few new talents.

“One of our main was to get new players to blend in with the experienced players so that they’ll be future representatives of the Force.
“We actually got to know the information by one of our players at the evening before the competition.
“I’m always grateful for the players because we’ve been together for quite a while and anytime, we are called to play, the girls are always ready.”
She hopes that the competition could be organised every year and for local teams to go for overseas tours.
Karisitiana dedicated their win to fans and supporters for yesterday’s competition
“I would like to thank everyone that came out to support the Police women’s volleyball team.
“We’re also grateful for the support that we have from members of the Fiji Police Force,” she added.
