Countdown in Ba, street party returns after long break
Town Council teams up with A1 Events to revive tradition and unite residents for New Year’s Eve.

People of Ba will celebrate the New Year with a street party.
The event has not been held for several years after being cancelled for various reasons.
The celebration is scheduled for tomorrow at Tabua Park. Ba Town Council Special Administrator Moshim Khan said the objective of the street party is to bring people together to celebrate the New Year.

“Not everyone can travel to Nadi or other districts to celebrate, so this is something we intend to give back to the people of Ba,” Mr. Khan said.
He added that the Council is working with A1 Events and preparations are going well.
“Everyone is invited; the more, the merrier. We are giving back to the people of Ba in collaboration with A1 Events and our stakeholders,” he said.
Jone Sito of Nailaga Village said, “This is a great way to mark the New Year. It has been a while since this event returned to the township.”
Tulia Racele, who now resides in Nailuva, Ra, said, “Great collaboration. Looking forward to this event—it’s a time Ba will be lively again.”
Ba hosted its first street party in 2011.
