Chief operations officer, Crystal Bouchard for her company, Allwest Land Surveying, is originally from Canada.

Though she now calls Fiji her home and lives with her husband and dogs in Volivoli, Rakiraki.

She is also the Lautoka Rotary Club president and has been heavily involved in Rotary for two long decades.

But it is her surveying company that allows her to travel throughout Fiji.

“I’ve have had a rewarding career leading Education and Training Programmes (I was even an ‘Ice Road truck driver’ in Canada).

What’s one place you’d take every visitor to Fiji and why?

Suncoast area of Viti Levu, Bligh Waters.

Mountain vistas, clean air, clean ocean, uncrowded waterfalls, best reefs for snorkelling, diving, Kite Surfing, and fishing.

Picnics on nearby islands and there is a variety of quality accommodations, restaurants, pools, and authentic adventures.

Rakiraki has a fantastic new fresh food market and ‘no traffic lights’!

Also, the Captain Cook Cruise to Mamanuca and Yasawas - or around the Islands, is an amazing way to have a relaxing and adventurous local vacation that rivals anything elsewhere. It is hard to pick one.

What’s your secret backyard favourite spot?

Hillside ‘sitting rocks’ in Volivoli, Rakiraki where we watch the sunset with our furbaby dogs and drink coffee.

What’s your favourite place in Fiji for a pie/coffee?

Volivoli Beach Resort, and Savusavu Copra Shed Bistro

What’s one Fiji spot on the top of your bucket list?

Levuka, Ovalau.
