Court vacates Biman Prasad trial as FICAC moves to amend charges
The court ruled that FICAC's proposed amendments fall under provisions that make the charge different in its entirety.

The Suva Magistrate Court has vacated the trial of former Deputy Prime Minister Biman Prasad, giving the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) time to file amended charges.
The court ruled that FICAC's proposed amendments fall under provisions that make the charge different in its entirety.
It also considered the accused's right to know the charges against him before the trial proceeds.

The court will reconvene at 2.30pm for Prasad to take his plea to the amended charges.
