Kadavu Man Pleads Not guilty To Attempting To Kill Wife

Malaulau is charged with one count each of attempted murder and breach of domestic violence restraining order.

A Kadavu man who is alleged to have attempted to kill his wife pleaded not guilty yesterday.

Joni Malaulau appeared before Judge Justice Thushara Rajasinghe.

Malaulau is charged with one count each of attempted murder and breach of domestic violence restraining order.

It is alleged that on October 1, 2019, at Gasele Village in Kadavu, Malaulau attempted to cause the death of his wife.

It is also alleged that on the same day, Malaulau allegedly breached his DVRO conditions issued by the Court.

Malaulau pleaded not guilty to the charge of attempted murder, however, he pleaded guilty to the charge of breach of his DVRO.

The matter has been adjourned for mention to February 25.

Malaulau has been further remanded in custody.
