Shafeed Ali, charged with assault causing actual bodily harm, was granted bail by the Magistrates Court in Ba yesterday.
Ali is alleged to have assaulted a doctor at the Ba Mission Hospital while trying to get some attention for his sick father who was reported to be suffering in pain.
The accused was granted bail on the condition that he pay a bail bond of $300, not offend, not relocate and not interfere with state witnesses.

The matter has been transferred to the High Court in Lautoka and is to be called again on November 11.
