The investigation file of Richard Mock is now under legal review by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).
Mock's body was discovered at a vacant lot in Nasau, Nadi, early this year.
Director of Public Prosecutions, Nancy Tikoisuva, confirmed yesterday that the case file was currently being examined by her office following an extensive police investigation.

Before reaching the ODPP, the investigation was overseen by Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu, who while acknowledging delays in submitting the report but denied any attempts to shield officers allegedly involved in the case.
“The delay was necessary to ensure every statement, video, and piece of forensic evidence was accurately compiled,” Mr Tudravu said. “We want to be thorough and transparent.”
The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has confirmed that police officers were the last individuals seen with Mock before his death, raising serious concerns about the circumstances surrounding the case.
Mr Tudravu said the investigation included transcribing video interviews of 13 officers linked to the incident a process he described as “time-consuming but critical” to the integrity of the findings.
According to Seraphine Mock, Richard’s mother, her son was attending a drinking party at Wailoaloa, Nadi, on the night of his death.
He was reportedly taken in by police after being accused of damaging property and was later found dead on January 18, 2025. “It’s been weeks without a word from police,” she said.
“We need closure, and we’re not sure about the level of cover-up that may be involved.”
As the ODPP reviews the file, the public awaits clarity on whether charges will be laid against any of the officers connected to Mock’s final hours.
