Rishikul Primary School student Ayush Kumar has achieved his dream of becoming the headboy of his school.
The 13-year-old was among 70 other students badged with leadership roles during the school’s prefect induction ceremony in Nasinu yesterday.
The heads and their prefects will ensure that the discipline of students are their first priority in the school which caters for 1633 students and 50 teachers.

Ayush promised that he would set a good example to his colleagues. He was previously badged as the class captain, assistant headboy and now the headboy.
“It was one of my dreams to become a headboy when I joined this school in 2010,” he said.
“My dad was the happiest person when he heard that I was chosen the headboy of the school.”
Headgirl Chavi Lingam, 13, of Suva, also known to have leadership qualities held the class captain and assistant headgirl’s badge previously.
She was not expecting the headgirl’s badge but when announced she was very proud of herself.
Both the head prefects were selected through interviews by the teachers.
